Name written in places as Risius and sometimes Risins in file (file name is Risins).

German husband interned, was engineer. ‘Major Risins who is a German Reservist objected to apply for naturalization after hostilities were declared, as he considered that it would be cowardly to do so.’ (Memorandum, Foemander, 8 July 1915).

P.2, Memorandum, Acting Secretary, Dept of Defence, 9 August 1915: only detained 2 days as caught on 17 July trying to board vessel at Adelaide. Took Oath of Neutrality. Released. Employed as type composing machine expert. ‘The police state that since the war his conduct has been exemplary.’ Apparently deferred but not specified.
