Widow for 22 yr. Police Report, 16 Sept 1915, Carrieton, p.3: ‘very quiet unassuming person… highly respected in this district even at the present time. For obvious reasons I am strongly opposed to Germans, but I am quite confident that the claimant is a person to whom the privileges of Naturalization might reasonably be extended.’ She is also ‘a regular attendant of the English Church’ even though lots of German church options in the area.
