DEA Memorandum, Foemander, 3/6/15, p.2: 80, widow. German husb. res 66 yrs. Local police suggest deferring as she has ‘always been regarded as a very patriotic German and that time has not diminished her affection for the Fatherland’. Handwritten Note at bottom saying referred to minister because of her ‘extreme age’. Despite being heard to describe someone dying at the hands of the Germans as ‘serves them right’, she is Approved, July 1915
