J E Gleed, Cawler Police Station Report, 8 May 1916: lives with daughter. is 72. born at Bergen. arrived in 1858 on the Victoria. husband died 12 months before. ‘Applicant has no means, but is maintained by her son Hermann Modra, farmer, of near Roseworthy. Applicant does not make it a practice of associating with other Germans except her own family. I consider the applicant a fit person’. husband was Martin Modra.
