W. E. Watson, Postmaster, to H & T Dept, 17 Jan 1925, p.3: separated from husband for 22 years 'during which time he has contributed nothing towards her upkeep. She is now entirly depndnt upon her children for support... Her husband is an old fossicker in this district and I understand that he refuses to get naturalised knowing that while he is not naturalised his wife is deprived of the old age pension.' Also notes that she cannot write so asked him to write for her.
