Letter from Catherine to AH, 11 Dec 1913, p.2: 'they told me that papers would be sent from Melbourne and I have waited two weeks for them and I attended again today with no better result. Why am I treated like this[?] I am 78 and have been a respected resident in this state for 56 years and when I see cases where people are not as dis[c]erning as myself it seems unjust... I cannot journey the three miles to the town again to be disapointed I am too feeble and the injustice done me by offering me 6/8 per week is enough to break the heart of any British subject at my age.'
