From 2nd application, Memorandum, Foenander, p.3: born in Germany, married a Frenchman, then divorced. He died in 1914. Claims received letter from German gvt stating that she 'had lost her rights' to be a German because of the marriage. She has proof of husband's military service in French army. A son died in France fighting with Australian Imperial Forces. Local Constable writes police report about how he's known her for years and very respectable. p.7 Police Report - lives with 'Scotch' widow of her son. Still a feather dresser in 1917.
