pp.7-8, she writes, in Sept 1916 (but undated), to DEA saying that the Commonwealth Public Service Inspector told her to approach them about getting an adjustment to he naturalisation. 'at the time I did not know of the trouble that would arise with Gemans, and therefore never thought of stating that eudsbug is a town in ... Schlesswig Holstin and belonged to Denmak until it was ceded to Germanie in 1864, and as I was born in 1861 and my Parents and Grandparents lived their Lifes in that Country I beg to state that I am of Danish decent and a Danish born subject' Moved with husband, also Danish. 'I also beg to state that I have absolutely no Sympathy for the Germans, but all my Sympathy and help in this Dreadful War has been given to my adoptd Country the British and her Allies Hoping you will b able to do this for me'
Hunt says she would need to produce a birth certificate from Denmark to prove this; she doesn't have one, so the existing certificate is upheld.
