According to the Constable Smedly, Police REPORT, 27 April 1917, She lived with her ‘husband’ (from 'an early age' lived with him but never married) for over twenty years and had 7 children but eventually left him because of abuse. Now living with her mother, who does get a pension. 'She would have applieed earlier but did not want her family to know that she was not married to their father.' Still considered ‘fit and proper’ and ‘respectable’ by Constable.
