NSW Police Report, 17 April 1916, p.3: 25. England-born. Res since 1911. Works as telephonist. Married to German. Married in Jan 1915! Doesn’t assoc with any other Germans seems respectable ‘but under existing conditions and in consequence of her recent marriage with Stadler, and having the knowledge that he was an unnaturalized German, I am of the opinion that she is not a fit and proper person’. The not fit and proper bit is highlighted and the minister wrote ‘Ackd’ and signed.
