Application and petition organised by Macdonnell, Henchman & Hannam, Solicitors and Public Notaries, Cairns, Queensland

Mary is refused naturalisation as she is a citizen of "Asia Minor" (Syria) and does not come within the act - see letters dated 1st March 1906 and 7th September 1906.

Approx 70 householders resident in the district of Mareeba and Mount Garnet, near Cairns, in the state of Queensland, sign a petition that Mary, who has been their "storekeeper" for the past five years and is of "irreproachable character" should be granted a certificate of naturalisation (see attached signatures).

There is no date of birth, so I could not establish how old she was.
