Letter from solicitor, 5 June 1906: 'The widow now wishes to purchase a piece of land but as she is under the Queensland laws, an Alien, I have the honor to request whether under these circumstances she could obtain a certificate of Naturalisation upon filing the usual Affidavits in such matters.'
Follow on letter from solicitor, 17 June 1908: please expedite because 'the applicant has purchased some land and paid a deposit and is borrowing money to may the balance and the intended Morgagee requires a definite answer shortly as to whether the loan will be required.'
