Hunt to Moutton, 18/05/1908, 'Gov Gen 'has not been advised to authorise the issue of a naturalization certificate'. No other explanation
Response only sent after her letter 7/05: 'It is needless for me to state that your Department must be lacking in business courtesy inasmuch as not even a reply has been received... As I still believe the Commonwealth are desirous of an increase with population I respectively request at least a reply'

Police Report (required by Hunt), 10/12/1907 because of birthplace: Inspector General, Police, Sydney, 17/12/1907: rept by Constable Kenny. Describes her as a 'coloured woman' who spoke English; husband Joseph 'born in one of the French possessions'; 'also coloured'. Married in their home island and again in Hunters Hill 'according to the rites of the Roman Catholic Church'; 'as far as the Const can ascertain she has always borne a very good character'
