Note: Attached to this original application of 1907, in 1912, are copies of letters to and from the Prime Minister of Australia - the local police "in the course of their duty of collecting particulars for the State Rolls of the Electoral District of King...have reported a case in which a native of Italy produced a naturalization paper which was posted to her by the Department of External Affairs on 26th March, 1907, addressed to Mrs Rosetta Scarra....at which time she was, and is now, the wife of an Italian, not naturalised." They ask to know if this certificate is valid
Also attached is the copy of a letter from the Premier to say, "there is nohing to prevent the issue of a certificate of naturalization to a woman who is the wife of an alien."
