the "Friedeburg" sailed between Germany and Australia at this time. Found the following on Trove (part of the original newspaper was destroyed, so only this part left), dates fit with her voyage: "the German immigrant vessel Friedeburg, with 375 souls on board....has been obliged to be ....(con?)fined in the Bay on account of their being sickness on board. Scarlet fever is the form which it assumed, and it is with regret we notice that fresh cases have broken out. It is thought that the.. (ship) will yet have to be placed in quarantine. Friedeburg, ship, 818 tons, Captain ? from Hamburg, with 375 immigrants."
