Cecilia's name on a passenger list for the ship "Ocean" - see the South Australian Register Saturday September 15th 1849, and her maiden name was "Beecken". She had an older brother (7 yrs older), whose name was J.Franz Heinrich Beecken. Cecilia's ship was the Ocean (aka Wolga), 360 tons, Captain W. Fokkes, from Hamburg 26th April 1849, arrived at Port Adelaide, South Australia 14th September 1849, says the "The South Australian Register" of Saturday September 15th 1849. It managed to evade the Danish blockade of Hanseatic ports by flying Russian colours and using the name of the ship Wolga. Upon her Arrival in South Australia at least one newspaper reported the ship as being the Wolga, creating some confusion for historians. The ship Ocean was built by the shipwright Beenck at Reiherstieg, Hamburg, in 1837-38 for the Hamburg firm of S.& B. Roosen.
