Comments

Durham had arrived at Port Phillip Heads, after a 54 days from Plymouth. and this may be reckoned a very excellent passage, more particularly for a first vovage, when the best sailing qualities have to be developed, and nearly the whole the way from London has been performed under steam, the winds having been very unfavorable. The total distance run was 12.202 miles. (From Trove, 27 Aug 1874 - includes a passenger list. See https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/5877245)
